Four Fours rules
Use exactly four 4s and no other digits. You can add, subtract, multiply, divide and group operations with parentheses. A number such as 44 uses two of your fours; .4 uses one. For example, 4 + 4 + 4 ÷ 4 = 9.
This version allows square roots with exact rational results, such as √4 = 2, and factorials of whole numbers from 0 to 7, such as 4! = 24. Use parentheses to group them: sqrt(4) or (4 + 4 ÷ 4)!. Powers, repeating decimals and double factorial notation are not part of this version; repeated factorials must be grouped explicitly.
